What is a "Special Events" Policy?

Whether you are having a gathering to play soccer or a wedding reception, The venue hosting the event will normally require a "Special Events" policy to cover them from liability claims. 
The policy is issued for a specific length of time which is the length of the event. Special questions are asked if there is going to be alcohol present.The following are example questions for a Liquor liability special events application:

1- Please describe the event.
2-  Maximum daily attendance?
3- Total attendance?
4- Length of event  ?  
5- Does event advertising include responsible drinking public service messages?
6- Is the application in the business of manufacturing, distributing, selling, servicing or furnishing alcoholic beverages?
7- Will application's employees pour or service alcoholic beverages?
8- Will event volunteers be allowed to pour or service alcoholic beverages?
9- Are attendees allowed to bring their own alcoholic beverages?
10- Will attendees to the event be allowed to self-serve themselves alcoholic beverages?
11- Is liquor poured or served by others hired by the applicant or vendors at the event? If yes, do they have liquor liability coverage?
12- Is this the first time application has held this event?
13- Has applicant ever been assessed a fine for violation of a law concerning the sale of alcohol, or had their liquor license been suspended or revoked?
14- Name on liquor license.
15- Estimated liquor receipts:
16- Average prices for beer___________Wine____________liquor_______________
17- What is the liquor budges, if the liquor is being provided at no charge at the event?
18- Number of servers:
19- Have all servers been through alcohol awareness server training?
20- How often does the applicant review liquor liability laws with employees?
21- Are procedures in place regulating the sale of alcohol to minors and those under the influence? if so, please describe the procedures
22- Percent of attendees: 25&Under___________26-30_________over 30___________
23- Is there a designated area for serving and drinking alcohol?
24- Is there a cover charge?
25- Is there a limited number of alcoholic drinks "per purchase?"
26- Are there on-site facilities for use to allow attendees to sober up prior to leaving the event?
27- Are alcohol sales ended a minimum of one hour before the end of the event?
28- Any firearms allowed on premises?
29- Are there procedures for handling violent or disruptive patrons?
30- If you have done this kind of event in the past, have you had any losses?
